Our Week in Review - Multiplication, a Fiery Furnace, and Rotation

We're looking forward to a trip to Miami to visit with my sis-in-law and brother-in-law so this week we made sure to get our school work done so that we can enjoy a week off! Here's what Mj did this week.

Bible: Mj learned about Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego's courage to not bow down to the golden image of King Nebuchadnezzar, and Daniel's courage to continue to pray even though he would face the lion's den. Mj memorized Romans 1:16 "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ for it is the power of God unto salvation, to every one that believeth to the Jew first and also to the Greek."

English: Mj continued to learn about pronouns. This week he focused on singular and plural pronouns.

Reading: Mj read a story about a zebra who got lost in the jungle.

Math: Mj began learning multiplication. He loves it!
Handwriting: Mj is continuing to enjoy cursive. One activity this week, I wrote antonyms in cursive and he had to find the pairs. (I love this pic cause you can see him thinking!)
Heritage Studies: Mj finished up his chapter on colonial trades by learning about the cooper. He decorated his own barrel.
Science: Mj learned about the rotation of the earth and how that affects the cycle of day and night. We tried it out by using a globe, sticky tack on our state, and a flashlight.
Mj loves Blokus (I do, too) so we took some time to enjoy a fun game!

Mj had co-op this week, too. He learned the names of school supplies in Spanish and he got to water color in art. He's looking forward to some field trips in the next couple of weeks.

I won't be posting next week since we'll be in Florida (where it's warm!!!!!) =)
