Our Week in Review - Geometry, Environment, & a Trip to the Vet

Another week down.  Here's what Mj did this week.

Bible: Mj learned about Christ's triumphal entry into Jerusalem and we talked about His Second Coming.  Mj memorized Psalm 24:10 "Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah."

English: Mj learned about adjectives.  He learned that we can use our 5 senses to help us name adjectives.  They answer the questions what kind? and how many?  And he used a thesaurus to find more exciting adjectives to use in a sentence.
Playing bananagrams.
Reading: Mj read a story about Helen Keller.

Math: Mj's chapter was about geometry.  We discussed plane shapes and solid shapes.  He learned about symmetry, congruent shapes, and similar shapes.  He also learned about perimeter.

Heritage Studies: Mj learned about the beginning of the Revolutionary War.  We discussed Paul Revere's ride, the shot heard round the world, and minute men.

Science:  Mj learned about habitats, environments, and biomes.  He also learned how water, light, and soil affect and animal's environment.

The best part of the week was our co-op's field trip to the veterinarian.  I must say, I thought it was pretty cool, too.
The kids got to see a dog getting his teeth pulled and cleaned.
Mj got to sit in on a surgery.  They were spaying a dog.  He was in there for 10 min and I had to almost drag him out. (I was not about to go in there - YUCK!).
Learning about what happens at the vet.
The exam room table.
The lab area.
Feeding one of the resident cats, Scrapper.
Getting to pet some of the dogs.
Reagan wearing a lead vest in the x-ray room.
The x-ray machine.
Learning about how they sterilize the instruments.
The kids didn't enjoy the smell of the operating room after it was cleaned up.
The group.
