Our Week in Review - Metric Measurement, Molly Pitcher, & Motion

Mj had a hard time concentrating this week, but we survived and got through our material and have another week of school done!=)  Here's what Mj learned this week.

Bible:  We discussed the crucifixion this week.  We talked about what happened during the crucifixion (the veil tearing, earthquake, darkness, etc.)  Mj memorized Romans 5:8 "But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
Mj added the crucifixion to his Bible time line.
English: Mj wrote a paragraph about his soccer ball.  He went through the 4 stages of the writing process - drafting, revising, proofreading, & publishing.

Reading: Mj read a story about Paul Bunyan and nightingales.

Math: Mj finished his chapter on metric measurement.  He learned about centimeters and meters, finding the perimeter using metric measurement, and coordinate graphs.

Heritage Studies:  Mj learned about Molly Pitcher and Nathan Hale - heroes of the Revolutionary War. We also reviewed the history of our flag.

Working on his American Flag worksheet.

Science: Mj started a chapter on motion.  We discussed the first law of motion - "An object keeps doing what it is doing until some force causes a change."
Our first law of motion experiment
