Our Week in Review - Division, Dulcimers, & Lego Dictionary

We're seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.  7 more school days to go.  Mj had a good week; here's what he learned.

Bible: Mj read 4 more chapters of the book Pelts & Promises.  He also learned about the Last Supper and we talked about Heaven.  Mj memorized John 14:2-3 "In My Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again. and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."

English: Mj finished his unit on sentences.  He learned about run-on sentences and how to fix them.  Then we started on his last unit - writing a research report.  He will be doing his report about monkeys.

Fixing run-on sentences.
Reading: Mj read 1 story about dulcimers and an article about dulcimers.  During his "free" reading time he has been reading The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.  He is over halfway through this book.  He's loved it!  Yesterday, he said to me, "Mom, this book gets more exciting as I read it.  I can't put it down!!"  Music to my ears.  He also loves to read through his Star Wars Lego Dictionary.  I think he's read this book through 50 times since he got it at Christmas!=)

Mj telling me all about the Star Wars characters while I work on school.

Math: Mj started doing division this week.  He's got a great grasp on it!

Mj reviewed his multiplication facts with his Education Cubes.
Heritage Studies:  Mj finished his chapter on clothes through history.  We looked at colonial clothing.

Mj made a 3-cornered hat.

Science:  Mj finished Science for the year!  We talked about the coast and sand.  Mj learned that sand is made of shell, quartz, and sometimes basalt.

I love the picture of your son using the white board...I really want one! I had to laugh at the lego dictionary. At least it interests him in reading right? I've never heard of it before! Great week!
