Our Week in Review - Research Report, Division, & George Washington

I can't believe our school year is almost over and Mj will be in 3rd grade!!!  We will be done on Tuesday!  Then my boy will be going to Christian school in Miami and will be in 3rd grade.  Wow!  So many changes for both of us!  Here's what Mj learned this week!

Bible:  Mj learned about some of Paul's missionary journeys.  He memorized Proverbs 20:11 "Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right."

English: Mj researched monkeys and wrote his first research report.  He did an excellent job.  In his paper he wrote about what monkeys look like, where they live and what they eat!  Great work MJ!

Mj reading about monkeys.

Mj's finished research report!  Jadyn decided to make a cover to her research report, too! =)

Reading: Mj read about Fanny Crosby.  What a testimony!  He enjoyed finding hymns in the hymnbook that she wrote!

Math: More division!

Heritage Studies:  Mj learned about the Constitutional Convention and George Washington.  What an exciting time in our nation's history!  I hope Mj sees the importance of these men and the decisions that they made to make our nation great!

We looked at a dollar bill.  George Washington is pictured on the dollar bill. We also looked at the seal of the United States on the back of the dollar bill.
Mj wrote down character qualities that made George Washington a good first president - he was a good listener, he was a quiet man, he was wise, and he was brave.

We couldn't just stay inside and steady all week!!!!  It was such a gorgeous week we had to get out and enjoy it!

This will be my last "Our Week in Review" post.  I've enjoyed looking over the other blogs and getting ideas!  I'm excited for the opportunity Mj has this fall to attend Christian school.  We know God has been a part of the whole move to Miami, new job for my husband, and school for Mj!  It's been exciting to see the Lord work!  I will miss homeschooling, but I'm also looking forward to not homeschooling, too!  Does that make sense?! =)

What a great week! Sounds like there are many changes ahead. Is Mj excited or hesitant (or both?) about going to school? I hope everything goes smoothly for your family!

Nicole - I would say Mj's is excited and hesitant about going to school. He does not like the fact that he will have to be in school "all" day! I think a school setting will be great for him and that he will adjust well.
