These pictures were taken just over a year ago when we took a 2 week vacation driving to Miami to look at a job here for Mark.  During this trip, I can tell you that never in our wildest imaginations did we see ourselves living here 1 year later!  It's been so neat to see how God has worked in our lives this past year.  It hasn't been easy... but I wouldn't trade this time for anything.  God has grown us as a family closer to Him.  We miss so much about Pennsylvania - fall, our family, our church family... but we are loving our new friends, our family here (Lyd, Marcus, & Jules), and the beach.  I went to many verses during the past year to help me.  Here is one of the ones I went to over and over.  Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."

Holding a baby alligator at an alligator farm.
Mj enjoyed the Mortensen's pool (he loves visiting there now and going swimming still!)
Gabe's first trip to the beach. (I can't believe how much he's changed in a year!!!!)
Our first time to Miami Beach.  Definitely one of our favorite places now!=)
Jadyn during our road trip!
Enjoying some ice cream in Savannah, GA on the way home.

It's fun for me to read this - since we are in a similar situation! Still thinking of you! these days are not easy. I battle feeling sorry for myself often, and wishing I had "more"/better friends here. I'm lonely a lot! mostly b/c friendships take time to build. Richard and I have ahrd our hard moments too, like you said would happen. it's not easy, but we will both look back in a couple of years and feel right at home! thanks for your encouragement through this whole thing!
