This morning we talked about the events of 9/11. I told the kids about the heroics of our firefighters, policemen and paramedics. Then we made cookies and cards and took them to our local fire department.
The kids got to meet the captain and two other firemen. They were so excited to talk with them and see the fire engine parked outside.
It was encouraging to us to see how happy the firemen were with our thank you!
I know my kids were born after 9/11, but I want them to understand the impact of that day on our country and to thankful for the men and women who sacrifice every day to keep us safe!
