My Camera Loves Them (and so do I)

The Orange Roadrunners

Another soccer season is here. Mj has the same coach as last year and most of his teammates are the same as last year, too. He's an orange roadrunner this year. Saturday was opening day for the season. Mark had a men's prayer breakfast so I got to take all 3 of the kids to the game and opening ceremonies.

Gabe and I having fun cheering on Mj!
Jadyn on the other hand wasn't having too much fun!

Go orange Roadrunners!

Happy 1st day of school!

I can't believe summer is over and school has started. Today was our first day back to school. It was a great day! The kids were amazing. I'll be giving a weekly wrap up this weekend, but I did want to give you a tour of our school room for this year.

Motivation to enter our school room! ;)

Looking into the schoolroom at the computer desk. I will be putting up papers and art work on the bare wall.

Our reading area,

My desk, white board, pledge of allegiance, and pocket charts.

The other wall has Mj and Jadyn's desks.

This is one of my new things for this year. We're trying out the workbox system. I've checked out a lot of homeschool blogs for ideas and am really hoping this system works for us. Mj has the top 9 boxes and Jadyn has the bottom 6. Each box has a number.

Mj and Jadyn have a schedule to know when to use which box.

Here's part of Mj's schedule. He does workbox #4, then we do handwriting and he'll then do workbox #5, then we'll have spelling.

The other new thing for this year is a morning board. We will have a character quality of the week that we will learn about, they will put up the weather for the day, a prayer, Mj's memory verse for his Bible lessons, our church's missionary of the month, Mj will fill in the number of days of school and will be reviewing place value, Our day of the week and two different ways to write the date, and our letter of the week.

Gabe's ready for his first day of school.

Mj and Jadyn are ready for their first day of school.
Looking forward to a great year with these crazy kids! LOL

My 1st 5k Race!!!

I just got pics from my first 5K race that I ran in June. I used Couch to 5K to get ready for the race. I never thought in my wildest dreams I would be able to run a 5K, but I did and it was awesome! I'm so thankful for my friend Tammy who ran it with me. We both did C25K and we both ran our first race together! So much fun with a fun lady!!!! I'm hoping to run another race in the future, maybe even a 10K next year. We'll see!

Tammy and I ready for our race!

Almost to the finish line!

Not too shabby for my first race!

We did it!!!!

I Married my Best Friend 9 Years Ago!

9 years ago today I married my best friend! It's hard to believe it's been 9 years. So much has happened in these past 9 years: my mom went to be with Jesus, our family has grown by 3, a new church, new roles... It's been an adventure and I can't imagine doing all this without Mark by my side. Thank you Lord for giving me such a sweet, caring, hard-working husband! I love you Mark! I look forward to many more years together with you!

VBS Grand Finale

What an amazing week of VBS!!!! We averaged about 90 kids every night and had 135 differnt kids total who came. Our church family was a huge help working VBS and praying! I was able to teach the 4 & 5 year olds missionary story 2 nights and the rest of the nights I was counseling or doing whatever Mark needed me to do. I was also able to lead 5 girls to the Lord! What an opportunity!! I'm so thankful to God for an amazing week to serve Him!!
Mark did an amazing job heading up VBS this year. It was a daunting task, but he stepped up to the plate and was amazing!
We closed our VBS week with our Grand Finale Sunday night. This is the night we invite the parents to come. We had carnival games, lots of food and a gospel message from Pastor Jon. We had 199 people in attendance Sunday night!!! Here's some pics of the Grand Finale!

Trip to Greenville

Mark and I were supposed to take our youth group to the Wilds, but with Mark in charge of VBS he decided a couple of weeks ago that he couldn't go. I was so disappointed because I love the Wilds, but also I was excited to see Lyd, Marcus and Tim. Well, Mark told me there was still room in the van for me to travel to Greenville and spend the whole week with everyone. I was so excited!
So Jadyn and Mj stayed with Nanny and Papa and Gabe and I were on our way to Greenville! I had such a wonderful time with Timmy, Benny, Lyd and Marcus. Makes me miss them more! Here's some pics from our time in G-vegas!

Timmy took us Geocaching for the first time! So much fun!

Gabe was such a trooper. He spent many hours in that car seat.

Gabe chillin' in my bed.

Gabe loved the "man chair" at Timmy's.

We got to meet up with Cherith at her apartment complex pool!

Downtown Greenville

Timmy showing Gabe how to use the iphone.

Gabe almost went back to Miami with Aunt Lydia! ;)

Lyd and I got to babysit our nephews Micah and Ryan and their friend Aria.

The day we left Greenville, Gabe turned 6 months old! Happy 1/2 year to Gabe!!!!
