What We Learned This Week

We've tried something new to keep Mj focused on his schoolwork. I set a timer and he has to beat the clock (and still have neat handwriting and coloring). Whatever time is left on the clock he gets to use to add to his 30 min. of wii. Quite the motivation!!

So what Mj learned this week:

Bible:
We studied King Saul and David. Memorized I John 4:7 - "Beloved, let us love one another for love is of God, and everyone that loveth is born of God and knoweth God."

Phonics:
We talked about cowboys. Mj wrote a story about what it would be like to be a horse.
He learned about bossy R and how he makes the vowel say his name. ("ar" and "or")

Reading:
Read a story about President Lincoln

Math:
Double Digit Addends

Heritage Studies:
We finished our chapter on settlements. We talked about Jamestown and Plymouth and why the settlers chose the areas they chose to build a settlement.

Science:
We began a chapter on Heat. We did an experiment. Mj had to melt an icecube and then freeze the water.

Spanish:
We reviewed the colors in Spanish

What Jadyn's been learning:
Coloring, Shape Sorting, Building Blocks, Putting together Unifix Cubes, and Playing with Mrs. Potato Head.
Of course, lots of books are involved, too! She loves to read.
