Our Week in Review - The Disciples, Clothing, & Chocolate

12 more days of school!!!  Can't believe this school year is almost over! Here's what Mj did this week!

Bible:  Mj learned about Jesus calling the disciples.  He also started a book called Pelts & Promises.  Mj memorized Mark 1:17 "And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after Me, and I will make you to become fishers of men."
Reading Pelts & Promises with a little help from Gabe.

English: Mj learned how to expand sentences by using adjectives.  He also learned how to combine subjects and predicates.

Reading:  Mj read a story about King Jehosophat.  He also started reading Chronicles of Narnia.  He's very excited to do some extra reading.

Tot School - "Y"

Jadyn is 34 months old & Gabe is 14 months old.
Tot School
This week we focused on "y".  We took it easy this week so we didn't have too many "organized" activities, but it was definitely a fun week!

Y is for yak and yardstick.  Check out Totally Tots for great alphabet craft ideas.

Jadyn loves doing the powerpoints from 1+1+1=1.

Practicing making the letter y.

Enjoying some fun at Cocoa Castle on a beautiful spring day!

Gabe had a fun week, too.  Trying to get his bottle to fit in the bin.

My little reader!

Gabe wanted to do school in his big brother's desk.

This Little Prayer of Mine - Review

Anthony DeStefano does a beautiful job of helping children understand how important their prayers are to God.  Their prayers are not too small for our God, He cares about them, too.  The illustrations and rhyming words make this book enjoyable for children.  My kids have asked to read this book over and over.  This has become one of their favorites!  I recommend this book for preschool and lower elementary children.

Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from the publisher through the Blogging for Books book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255

It's Becoming Reality!

I looked out my window after putting the kids to bed and I saw our realtor putting our for sale sign up for our house!  I had a mix of emotions - sad and excited!  We've made so many wonderful memories in this house and have worked so hard to make it our own, but yet we are so excited to see God work in our lives in Miami.  Can't believe we'll be moving in a month and a half!  Wow!

And can I just say how awesome God is even with the realtor we have.  This goes back to when Mark and I were engaged and we talked to this realtor about a house.  He was a Christian which we were so excited about!  What an awesome thing to start our meetings with him in prayer!  Well, we weren't quite ready to buy a house so we rented an apartment for our first year of marriage.  Out of the blue the realtor emailed us a year after we were married and said that he wanted us to look at a house that he thought would be perfect for us and boy was he right!!!!!  So he sold us this house that the Lord wonderfully provided for us!  And now he will be selling our house!  He is such an encouragement every time we meet with him, just uplifting us spiritually.  Lord, you are so good to us!!!!

So if you would pray with us that if it is the Lord's will that our house would sell quickly.  If it's not his will for it to sell quickly, please pray with us for patience!

Our Week in Review - Motion, Francis Scott Key, & Easter

It's been a crazy week at our house this week.  We've been finishing up last minute things to be able to get our house up for sale so we had school in our dining room most of the week.  Here's a look at Mj's week.

Bible: We focused on the Resurrection this week.  Mj memorized Matthew 28:6 "He is not here: for He is risen, as He said.  Come, see the place where the Lord lay."

English: Mj reviewed sentences & fragments and subject & predicate.

A little help on Mj's English paper from his Lego friends.

Reading:  Mj read about Francis Scott Key and our National Anthem.

Math: Mj reviewed place value and we talked about the Thousands place.

Heritage Studies: Mj learned about the clothing of the early colonists.

Science: Mj learned about the 2nd & 3rd laws of motion.  And we did some experiments.

2nd law of motion experiment.  The paper is easier to move than the penny because it weighs less.

3rd law of motion experiment.  For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

Mj had to follow a recipe and make a strawberry jello dessert!  It turned out yummy!

Dying Easter eggs with Jadyn.
Putting the Resurrection rolls in the "tomb."
