What's Been Going on the Last Two Weeks

It's hard to believe that Job is 2 weeks old today! How come time goes so slow that last month of pregnancy and once the baby is born time flies? LOL I've had a good two weeks. I'm recovering well from the C-section. My SIL has been awesome taking the kids for me in the mornings so I can relax and enjoy sweet Job. My amazing friends have made delicious meals for us. And of course, my awesome husband has been Mr. Mom around the house. I know that they have all made my recovery much better for me! I'm starting to feel back to my "old" self and it feels great. I even took the kids to the park yesterday! Here's what we've been up to the past 2 weeks! I don't know why I haven't had time to blog? ;)

Gabe loves his baby brother!  He lets me know when he moves, or cries, or "toots".  I really wasn't sure how Gabe would handle not being the baby in the family any more.  He's such a momma's boy and desires that attention from me, but he has truly adjusted great to having a new baby in the house.  He loves Job (sometimes a little too much) and I'm so thankful for the help he has been.  He loves to go grab the wipes for me.  And he even helps me wipe - Poor Job! LOL
Big Brother MJ is awesome!  He comes home from school and goes right for Job!  He enjoys holding him and loves to watch the faces Job makes in his sleep.
Jadyn AKA Mommy #2 is all about the baby.  I have to keep reminding her that Job is not a baby doll.  She thinks he must have his pacifier in his mouth at all times. And if he cries she has to be the one to figure out why he's crying.  I really hope Job survives his big sister! LOL  Jadyn has been dying to feed Job a bottle so I let her feed him a bottle a couple of nights ago!  It made her day!
School is still going on around here.  We've made flowers out of cupcake liners.
She's been learning how to write "i", "u" and "e"

Making a pig out of circles.  That's her pig face if you can't tell! ;)

Learning how to  set the table.

Gabe hasn't been that interested in school the past 2 weeks which is fine.  He's all boy and would rather crash his cars into each other and fly his airplane around!

Job's first bath.  He actually enjoyed it!
I had some help giving him a bath.
Lots of sleeping has been going on the past 2 weeks.  Job is an awesome baby.  He's been sleeping 4 hours at night and some nights I'll even get 6 hours of sleep out of him!  That makes momma happy!!!

Mj had a bug project due for science class.  He made an imaginary bug out of Lego's and made an ecosystem for his bug to live in. He named his big the Giant Water Slipper.
He also helped Mark start to put the new play set together.  Why must boys like power tools? ;)
I find random toys with Job and I know who's giving them to him - GABE!!  Although I think Job will need the Nerf gun to defend himself from his brother and sister! LOL
And here's Job today on his 2 week birthday!  Ready for a walk in his new stroller!
So that's what's been going on here the past 2 weeks.  We're adjusting to life as a family of 6!  I'm so thankful for my family!

Job is Here

Job made his appearance not the way we expected, but we are so thankful he is here and healthy.  On Monday I had a an ultrasound because I was measuring 42 weeks and I was only 38 weeks so they wanted to get a weight estimate.  Well, they estimated him weighing 9 lb. 7 oz.  I went to my doctor appointment in the afternoon and my doctor said I needed to have a c-section because of his size.  I cried.  I was not anticipating a C-section at all.  I have had all my others naturally and was scared of the surgery and the recovery of a C-section and having 3 kids at home.  After a long talk with my doctor (who I can say is so sweet and amazing) we decided for the safety of the baby and me is was best to do a C-section. So we scheduled the C-section for Tuesday.
Tuesday came and we got to the hospital at 12:30. They started prepping me with iv's (ouch), a taking my blood.  My anesthesiologist came in and really put me at ease.  She was a huge help!  They wheeled me back to the OR around 2:30.  I couldn't wait for Mark to get back to the OR with me.  Once I saw him I felt much better.  At 3:09 on September 11, 2012 we heard Job's first cries.  The doctor and nurses couldn't believe how chunky he was and the nurses were so awesome to let Mark take lots of pictures!
So Job Michael Fortney is here.  We chose the name Job because of the testimony of Job in the Bible.  The man went through so much and yet he never once cursed God.  He praised God and God blessed him abundantly.  Our prayer for Job is that he will glorify and praise God no matter what God brings in his life.  Michael means "Who is like God?"  What a sovereign, gracious God we serve. There is no one like God. We pray that Job will understand his need of a Savior from his sin at a young age.  That Job will accept Christ as his Savior and grow to be more like Christ every day.
We are thrilled to have our 4th addition to our family!  Welcome Job!  We love you!

It was very tramatizing!

Job & Daddy
Mj and Jadyn got to meet Job that night.
I love that little tongue!
Gabe met Job the next day!
So excited to be with their new baby brother.
Jadyn is a little mommy
I love those cheeks!!!
I truly am blessed!  After being told that having Mj was a miracle and we could never have more children without the help of fertility drugs and knowing that we could never afford that. I never in my wildest dreams could of pictured my life with these 4 miracles.  God is amazing! I do not deserve to be their mommy and I thank God every day for his graciousness in these 4 gifts He has chosen to give to me!

Preschool Fun

Jadyn has been very busy learning and playing! This week we worked on "B" and "C".  She's doing a great job knowing their sounds and being able to write them.  She loves the preschool book I bought her at Target and enjoys working her way through the book!  Here's her week in pictures.

Coloring her "blue" paper.
Tracing "B"
Doing her over and under paper and then, of course, she had to color the rainbow!  She's my little artist.

Coloring her "C" paper.

Her friend Max came over and she helped him learn his ABC's with our magnet letters.
Playing tumbling monkeys with her big brother MJ.  One of her favorite games!
The highlight of her week was helping her daddy put together her new loft bed.

She was a bit disappointed that I didn't have any crafts for her, but with 2 weeks til my due date I just didn't have the energy to make any crafts.  Hopefully, this week I will get something together for her to do! ;)

Lots of Playing Going On!

Gabe is 31 months old
Tot School
I'm getting my tot school post up late because of the holiday weekend, but here's what Gabe was up to last week.  Gabe has been doing a great job with his colors.  We've really been working on them and counting to 3 this week.  Here's his week in pictures.

Gabe and big sister Jadyn playing a fun color match game.  Gabe decided the tweezers would make a great head accessory!

Gabe has been dying to play Hi Ho Cherry-o with the kids, so I revamped it and made it a color game and a motor skill game for him.  I would tell him to put the cherries in the blue bin and then he would choose a color and dump all the cherries into that color bin.  Great entertainment!

Of course, a day is never complete without raiding the car bin.
Some coloring practice.

This boy loves cars and trucks!

He learned that if you put a bucket on your head you will run into things, lots of things! LOL
He loves his new basketball net from the Garcia's.  He's got some mad skills! ;)
