This Fathomless Love

Lord, what moved Your heart to love lowly man
Before any star could herald Your praise?
And why did You come, abasing Yourself
Veiled in a robe of frail human clay?
Why would You, the pure, give Your life for the vile
The innocent seeking the guilty
To be reconciled?

I can't comprehend this fathomless love.
I'm gripped and amazed by what You have done.
Why would the adored become the despised
To bear all the furious wrath that was mine?
How awesome this mystery
Of Your fathomless love for me.

Why would you adopt and take as Your own
Those who had crushed Your one precious Son?
Why mercy and grace towards Your enemies?
Your name they have cursed and Your throne they have shunned.
Oh, how could You choose to show kindness to these?
The ones who would mock You and hate You
The ones just like me?

I can't comprehend this fathomless love.
I'm gripped and amazed by what You have done.
Why would the adored become the despised
To bear all the furious wrath that was mine?
How awesome this mystery
Of Your fathomless love for me.

Our Crazy Week in Review

I didn't get a week in review up last week, so here's this weeks review. It seems like spring brings lots of things to do. We've been so busy, but we still were able to get a good week of school in. Here's what we learned!

Mj - 1st grade:

Bible: We started our unit on missionaries by learning about Saul's conversion and how God had a plan for Saul whose name would be changed to Paul. We also started reading a biography on Adoniram Judson, the first American missionary. Mj also memorized II Tim. 1:7-8.
Math: We talked about measuring. We reviewed measurement of length, mass, and capacity. Then we looked more closely at metric measurements. The kids helped me make a cheesecake to review measuring capacity.
Phonics: We looked at words with a silent "d" and "t" (badge, bridge, hatch, patch, etc.) We also discussed different instrument families.

Reading: We read an article about instrument families. We also read a story about a piccolo who was left out of the band. We applied the story to our lives and how our tongues are little but very dangerous.

Heritage Studies: We talked about Robert LaSalle who was the found the end of the Mississippi River and claimed the land along the way for France. We also talked about King Louis XIV. Mj couldn't believe King Louis XIV used real people and horses to play chess in his outdoor chess board.
Science: We began our chapter on Wild Animals. This week we will be going on a hike and looking for marks that wild animals have left behind.

Mj also had his co-op's fine arts festival. He played "Jesus Loves Me" on the piano. He did a great job!!!!

Jadyn - Tot School

Jadyn played with her puzzles.
She also helped me bake a cheesecake.
And of course lots of reading and coloring!
Gabe - Baby School
Being cute - that was the topic of the week!! He was a pro!! =)

My favorite pic of the week!!!

The Look

I saw One hanging on a tree
In agony and blood.
Who fixed his loving eyes on me
As near His cross I stood.
And never till my dying breath
Will I forget that look.
It seemed to charge me with His death
Though not a word He spoke.

My conscience felt and owned the guilt
And plunged me in despair.
I saw my sins His blood had split
And helped to nail Him there.
But with a second look He said,
"I freely all forgive.
This blood is for your ransom paid.
I died that you may live."

Forever etched upon my mind
Is the look of Him who died,
The Lamb I crucified.
And now my life will sing the praise
Of pure atoning grace
That looked on me and gladly took my place.

Thus while His death my sin displays
For all the world to view.
Such is the mystery of grace
It seals my pardon, too.
With pleasing grief and mournful joy
My spirit now is filled.
That I should such a life destroy
Yet live by Him I killed.

Oh the Deep, Deep Love

Oh the deep, deep love of Jesus
Vast, unmeasured, boundless, free.
Rolling as a mighty ocean
In its fullness over me.
Underneath me, all around me
Is the current of Your love.
Leading onward, leading homeward
To Your glorious rest above.

Oh the deep, deep love
All I need and trust
Is the deep, deep love of Jesus.

Oh the deep, deep love of Jesus
Spread his praise from shore to shore.
How He came to pay our ransom
Through the saving cross He bore.
How He watches o'er His loved ones
Those He died to make His own.
How for them He's interceding
Pleading now before the throne.

Oh the deep, deep love
All I need and trust
Is the deep, deep love of Jesus.

Oh the deep, deep love of Jesus
Far surpassing all the rest.
It's an ocean full of blessing
In the midst of every test.
Oh the deep, deep love of Jesus
Mighty Savior, Precious Friend.
You will bring us home to glory
Where Your love will never end.

Oh the deep, deep love
All I need and trust
Is the deep, deep love of Jesus.

This has been a busy week, but we were able to get a lot accomplished and enjoy the beautiful weather God gave us this week! Spring is coming!!!!

MJ - 1st Grade:

Bible: We began our Easter unit this week. We talked about Jesus entering Jerusalem, Cleansing the Temple and the Last Supper. We're making a timeline to see what happened during Passion Week.Phonics: We finished up the circus and learned the "oi", "oy", "au" and "aw" sounds.

Art: We made cards for Aunt Dawn-Dawn who is in the hospital.

Jadyn: Tot School
Jadyn enjoyed painting a card for Aunt Dawn-Dawn and making a mess!!! =)
Jadyn, of course, loved play-dough and her puzzles.
We also read many books!
And Jadyn made her very own wampum necklace! She also discovered that raw noodles do not taste very good! ;)

Jadyn also worked on her "mothering" skills. This may need some more practice! Ha! Ha!

Gabe: Baby School
He's cooing so much more! Sleeping and eating - life is good!!!=)

19 months apart - We're in trouble!=)

I have a feeling my two youngest are going to be great friends and partners in crime! ;)
