Native American Day

Yesterday, we had fun celebrating Native American Day at Miccosukee.  The kids loved all the rides and they learned some things, too.  Here's some pictures from our day.

Heading out on the airboat!
The first time all 6 of us have ridden an airboat together! It was a blast!
The boys on the slide.
Jadyn loved this big slide!
On the roller coaster. Job was not a fan.
He liked the merry-go-round much better.
Mj liked this!
Getting ready to watch the Alligator Wrestler!
I'm not sure if this guy is crazy or brave! LOL
Waiting with my big boy for the little boys to get out of the bounce house.
Jadyn & Gabe on the swings.
They loved the swamp buggy.
Enjoying an ice treat on this very hot and humid day.
Jadyn wanted her picture with a real native American.

Busy, Busy Week

Weekly Wrap-Up
We had a busy week, but praise God it went much better than last week!  We're looking forward to one more week and then a week break!  Yay!

Gabe and Job spent a lot of this week making letters, buildings, and towers with blocks.  I love blocks!  What a great way to use those motor skills and imagination.
Tuesdays are Enrichment classes through our co-op. Jadyn has been taking a ceramics class and got to take her first two pieces home. They look beautiful!

Mj has been taking a fine arts class and I've been so impressed with his talent!

Wednesday we celebrated the first day of fall by painting some fall trees.

This week Jadyn learned about land forms in Heritage Studies.  She had fun making this land form flip book.
On Thursday Jadyn and Gabe had an Elementary Explorers activity through our co-op at a park.  They had so much fun playing with their friends and playing with the parachute.

We learned about Florida this week and made a key lime pie! It was yummy!
Jadyn learned about measure capacity so we made a gallon-bot to help her remember cups, pints, quarts, and gallons.
Yesterday we enjoyed celebrating Native American Day. Jadyn was so excited to get her picture taken with a real native American wearing real native American clothes.
We had fun on the airboat.
The kids loved watching the alligator wrestler.
So that was a quick summary of our week in pictures.

I'm So Glad This Week is Over!

Weekly Wrap-Up
It's been a rough week - lots of fighting, arguing, tempers lost, patience gone, just down right yucky things going on.  I definitely did not enjoy this week, and I'm glad to see it gone and looking forward to a brand new week next week. We all have those days, weeks, months.... So anyway, this is what our week looked like.

We started our week off great with some fun review with our Education blocks to review our states and capitals.
We also made some delicious peach cobbler for our study of Alabama.
Jadyn's reading has improved so much! I'm so glad we've chosen All About Reading for her.
Gabe worked on matching the uppercase and lowercase buddies.
Then this happened. My adorable 3 year old has been testing my patience since he turned 3 (he turned 3 on the 11th). He decided to do his own little science experiment and see if a whole roll of toilet could be flushed down the toilet. It can't. =(
For a moment he actually did sit quietly and color this week. It was only for a moment. Then he was back to being devious and finding trouble!
Jadyn finished her All About Spelling Level 1 this week.
It quickly went from smiles to this note when Jadyn decided to be disrespectful and disobedient. I went to talk to her after I sent her to her room and found this note. It says, "haha, Jadyn, I want to leave 9/17/15) Then there is a picture of me with an x over my face and Jadyn with an "x" over her face.  I asked what her paper meant.  She said, that we are not friends any more and she would be leaving that day.  Don't worry she did not leave and after a couple of hours we were friends again.
Oh look! Job was amusing himself and not getting into trouble for a brief moment! He actually enjoys when I get this game out and he colors sorts the beans.
Gabe got his busy book out to practice some number recognition.
He loved being rewarded with some educational app time on the Ipad for finishing school and doing a great job.
Yesterday Gabe began learning about clocks.  He was so excited!
Jadyn made a ocean habitat for science on Friday.
Every other Friday the younger kids enjoy their HomeArt Studio dvds.  Gabe learned about symmetry and made a beautiful butterfly.
Jadyn made an abstract egg.
Tuesday was co-op day. They look forward to their classes.

So that was our week.  I'm thankful for God's grace and forgiveness!  We've all needed it this week!  Looking forward to a better week next week!

Job Turns 3 and Visiting the Police Station & Fire Station

How can my baby be 3 years old!?!?  Today my baby turned 3 years old!  He has been anxiously awaiting his birthday!  Although he thinks he is 5.  Sorry, buddy!  This momma could not handle that one! ;)

When he woke up I asked him what today was. This was his adorable it's my birthday face and we're going to take cookies to the firemen face!
On this day, I am reminded of God's grace to turn my mourning into joy.  14 years ago on this day not only did the horrors of those terror attacks on our country take place, but I said good-bye to my mom for the last time. I had no idea that God would take her home 2 days later.  This time of year is always difficult for me as I recall the events of the today and the next couple of days. But 3 years ago, God gave me joy in the midst of my mourning.  I was due with Job on September 15 and I always have my babies late so I never thought his birth would correlate with my mom's passing. On Sept. 10, 2012 I went in for an ultrasound because Job was measuring big and so was my belly.  The doctors said I would have to have a C-section the next day. God knew that Job needed to come on this day and made it happen even if it wasn't the way I would have planned him coming. As I watched Job today playing and just loving life and being his silly self, I was reminded of God's grace and goodness.  I did not deserve to have such good gift brought into my life, but God gave me Job at just the right time. I know my mom would love Job so much just as she would my other 3 children. There is not a day that goes by that I wish she could see them or talk to them. I seriously think she would just want me to FaceTime our entire day so she could watch them every second! LOL
Job, you are God's gift to our family.  You bring so much joy and life to our family! I love the way you say "I wuth you Mommy" and squeeze my neck so hard. I love how you copy everything your big brothers and sister do and then make it your own silly version of whatever they are doing. I love how independent you are becoming and yet need me to see your achievements. You are my dare devil, bug-lovin', fire truck finding, silly boy! I pray that you will know how much Jesus loves you and that He has made you for a specific purpose! We love you Job Michael!
Some silliness with the birthday boy after his McDonalds lunch.

Also, today we wanted to show our gratitude to our police officers and firemen so yesterday we were baking up a storm.  Seriously, I think Job was more excited about seeing the firemen and police officers than his birthday! He couldn't wait to go give them cookies this morning!  We look forward to doing this every year!

At one of the fire stations they gave us a tour of the fire engine and let the kids try on their gear.  The kids loved it!
Jadyn thought the helmet was very heavy.
Mj said it was very hot to wear all that gear.
Job just made us all laugh! Where are his legs?!
They even got a picture with these brave men!
